Piccola Mows Down 15 Cubs Friday, September 15th , 2045 Led by an outstanding performance from starter John Piccola, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs topped the Iowa Cubs today by a score of 21-0 at Principal Park. The 24-year-old Piccola brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 1 hit and giving up 2 walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Cubs manager Lapaela Girawheen said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." For the year Piccola has a 14-6 record with a 3.34 ERA in 29 starts. |
