Bulls Barrett Named AL's Best Pitcher Sunday, October 1st , 2045 Steve Barrett of the Durham Bulls outdistanced his peers on the mound this month. He fashioned a fine 4-0 won-lost mark and 1.86 ERA in 5 starts to get the American League Pitcher of the Month honors. Barrett had a very impressive September, finishing with 51 strikeouts in 38.2 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .167 average. Presently Barrett has a 23-1 mark in 30 starts with a 1.12 ERA. He has given up 112 hits in 232.1 innings, struck out 274 and issued 52 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .142 batting average against him. |
