AL Gives #1 Pitcher Award Saturday, November 11th , 2045 The Durham Bulls have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Steve Barrett, this year's American League Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Barrett compiled a 23-1 record in 30 starts, tallied 274 strikeouts in 232.1 innings and recorded a 1.12 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .142 batting average against him. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Spencer Jones of the Buffalo Bisons finished second in voting, while Angel Contreras of the Buffalo Bisons finished third.
