No Easy Feat: Pitcher Wins AL Most Valuable Player Award Sunday, November 12th , 2045
Not only has Steve Barrett been named winner of the 2045 American League Most Valuable Player Award, he's done it at an age when many of his peers are still trying to establish themselves in International League.
"I feel fortunate to win this award at age 21," he said. "I feel like I still have my best years ahead of me. Hopefully I can put my name on this trophy a few more times."
The Durham Bulls ace had a 23-1 record over 30 starts and 232.1 innings. He struck out 274, issued 52 walks and had an impressive 1.12 ERA.
Batters hit only .142 against him during the season.
