Zacarias Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Tuesday, June 6th , 2045
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Hugo Zacarias did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at San Jose Municipal Stadium today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 25-year-old left fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the San Jose Giants beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5-4 today.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Zacarias told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the San Jose clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Hugo Zacarias grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
Zacarias currently has a .368 batting average with 28 hits, 2 homers, 13 RBIs, 16 runs scored and a .422 OBP.
