Injury Derails Season for Shaffer Thursday, July 13th , 2045 "Not what I wanted to hear," said Altoona's Tim Shaffer to reporters this afternoon, as he revealed that the injury he sustained on 07/11/2045 would force him to miss the rest of the season. "The doctor made it clear," Shaffer said. "There's no chance for me -- none at all -- to come back this year. That's the last thing I wanted to hear." Shaffer has been out of action since he suffered a partially torn labrum. In 18 starts this season, Shaffer has picked up 3 wins while suffering 6 losses. He has pitched 73.1 innings, allowed 67 hits, struck out 60 and posted a 4.54 ERA. |
