Wednesday, September 13th , 2045
After an intense confrontation, both the RubberDucks Willie Gonzales and the Barons Mario Zarate were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Akron-Birmingham game. Willie Gonzales will miss 3 games, while Mario Zarate was suspended for 6 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Willie Gonzales commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
Posting a .243 batting average to date, Gonzales has 6 home runs and 58 RBIs.
So far this year Zarate has delivered no saves. In 23 relief appearances he has 34 strikeouts in 29 innings with a 6.21 ERA and a 1-0 won-lost mark.
