Rojo Spins 15-K Game
|
Eddie Rojo of the Hickory Crawdads put on a pitching clinic today at L.P. Frans Stadium as he struck out 15 Lexington Legends in a 22-0 victory. Rojo, who is tied for 8th in the AL with a 0.95 WHIP, was simply magnificent as he held the Legends to 1 hit. He walked 1.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Rojo said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Rojo's performance, Crawdads manager Kennys Vargas shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
This season Rojo has been credited with no saves. In no relief appearances and 129.2 innings he has a 14-3 won-lost mark, 2.50 ERA and 173 strikeouts
