Ruiz Super -- No-Hits Jackson
|
In a dominant outing, Jordan Ruiz of the Frisco RoughRiders totally silenced the bats of the Jackson Generals, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the RoughRiders' 10-0 victory, Ruiz faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 6 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Frisco manager Cesar Hernandez said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Adam Watkins had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The RoughRiders had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Ruiz pitched a heck of a ballgame."
Thus far this season, Ruiz has tossed 171 innings in 26 starts, fanned 198 batters, walked 37 and put up a 2.68 ERA with 16 wins and 2 losses.
