It wasn't easy but the Tulsa Drillers made it look that way.

Starter Pat Matera shut out the Tennessee Smokies despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Tulsa Drillers cruised to victory, 4-0. Matera allowed only 3 hits and rang up 13 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Thus far this season Matera has posted a 7-5 record, started 16 games, struck out 84 batters in 106 innings and compiled a 2.89 ERA.
