Hinkle Must Sit Out 4 Games Friday, April 20th , 2046 Matt Hinkle of the Sea Dogs has been suspended by the league commissioner's office for 4 games for his animated argument with a home plate umpire in yesterday's contest with the Jackson Generals at The Ballpark at Jackson. In the heated confrontation the Portland second baseman pointed to where the ball was and repeatedly pointed his finger in the ump's face and apparently made some contact. That's when he got ejected. Reached for comment on the suspension, Hinkle said, "I guess I'll have to learn how to not talk with my hands. They are a dangerous weapon according to the umpires." This season Hinkle has hit at a .246 clip and produced 6 runs batted in, no home runs and 6 runs. |
