18 Ks for Puffer, Beats Corpus Christi 7-0 Friday, September 21st , 2046 Bud Puffer of the Chattanooga Lookouts put on a pitching clinic today at Whataburger Field as he struck out 18 Corpus Christi Hooks in a 7-0 victory. Puffer, the 3rd overall pick in the 2044 draft, was simply magnificent as he held the Hooks to 3 hits. He walked 1. "I felt okay at the beginning," Puffer said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game." When asked about Puffer's performance, Lookouts manager Will Skinner shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating." In 31 starts this year Puffer has recorded a 20-6 record and a 2.32 ERA. |
