At the age of 22, Inkei Wakamatsu says he still has a lot to learn about life in Eastern League.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Chattanooga Lookouts reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2046 American League Reliever of the Year.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Tokyo, Japan native said.

For the season, Wakamatsu had 33 saves in 55 relief appearances, which totaled 71.2. He fanned 100 betters, while walking 15 and put up a record of 4-5 to go with his 1.76 ERA.

He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 30. Elliot Monroe of the Portland Sea Dogs finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Al Speer of the Montgomery Biscuits finished third with 2 first place votes.
