NL's Premier Player for 2046 Named
Monday, November 12th , 2046
At the age of 21, Erik Gretzky of the Mississippi Braves could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2046 was good enough to win the left fielder the National League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .346 batting average this year, as well as a .483 on-base percentage. He played 74 games and racked up 89 hits, 18 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 48 RBIs and 52 runs scored.
He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 30. Marlon Reda of the Mobile BayBears finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Leo Gomez of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos finished third with 5 first place votes.
