Santanello Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Thursday, June 28th , 2046
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Brad Santanello is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Parkview Field today. The monster effort from the 21-year-old first baseman helped the South Bend Cubs take the win, 5-2.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said TinCaps manager Blake Stouffer. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Brad Santanello hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 50 games this season Santanello is batting .247 with 37 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 19 runs and driven in 19.
