Westray Sizzles -- Smokes River Bandits for 5 Hits Saturday, July 28th , 2046 No matter what the Quad Cities River Bandits threw at him today, Bryan Westray hit it. He easily handled River Bandits pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the RiverDogs to a 9-2 triumph at Modern Woodmen Park. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Westray's quip, River Bandits skipper Andres Gimenez said he "would take him up on that next time." Bryan Westray singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Sean Mounts in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Sean Mounts in the 8th. This season Westray is batting at a .290 clip with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs. |
