Sloan Belts 5 Hits Friday, August 3rd , 2046 Delmarva first baseman Mike Sloan had a day to remember today, 5-for-5 against the Quad Cities River Bandits at Modern Woodmen Park as the Shorebirds picked up a 15-2 victory. "He was patient up there today," Delmarva skipper Andy Flaherty told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Sloan has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Mike Sloan singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Manny Bonilla in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Salvador Gomez in the 9th. So far in 2046 Sloan is batting .272 with 12 home runs, 48 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 72 hits in 265 at-bats and a .320 OBP. |
