Hewitt Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Wednesday, August 8th , 2046 Joe Hewitt's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Lakewood left fielder smacked 1 hit against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in today's game at First Energy Park, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the BlueClaws drop the game, 10-1. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Joe Hewitt singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. So far this year Hewitt has hit .305 with no home runs, 31 RBIs and 32 runs scored. |
