Morado, Turner Suspended for Fracas
Wednesday, August 8th , 2046
Yesterday at Municipal Stadium Antonio Morado and Kevin Turner got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Hagerstown Suns and Peoria Chiefs. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Morado will have to sit out 4 while Turner would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
In his season totals, Morado has 4 home runs, .227 BA, .266 OBP, 23 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has played in 58 games.
Turner has taken the hill for 30 relief appearances this season, nailing down 3 saves while notching a 2-3 record with a 4.54 ERA. The Peoria reliever has limited opposing batters to a .261 batting average.
