Mets End Hewitt's Streak
Friday, August 17th , 2046
It was a doubly miserable day today for Joe Hewitt of the Lakewood BlueClaws, as he saw his 24-game hitting streak end and his team lose 2-1 to the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG Stadium. The 20-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Mets.
"Anyone on a 24-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Binghamton manager George Pinkard said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
Presently Hewitt is batting .315 and has collected 1 home run, 33 RBIs, .352 OBP and scored 35 runs.
