Cedar Rapids Cruises to American League Central Division Crown Tuesday, September 11th , 2046 The city of Cedar Rapids is buzzing tonight as their hometown club has captured a division title. The Cedar Rapids Kernels officially laid claim to the American League Central Division crown today and will now turn attention to preparing for a run at the franchise's 1st World Series. "We may have been far ahead in the standings, but you never take anything for granted until it's official," said reliever David Gordon. "I've seen too many strange things happen in baseball to ever assume the playoffs is a guarantee." But it now is in fact a guarantee for the club, which currently has a 88-51 record and has easily stood out as the class of the division this season. |
