Ferris Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, September 21st , 2046 Burlington right fielder Griffin Ferris had a big day at Community Field today against the Lexington Legends. The 21-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Bees to a 21-0 triumph over Lexington. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Ferris said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Griffin Ferris hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a three-run triple in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 7th. This year Ferris has socked 109 hits in 424 at-bats for a .257 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .380 pace and his totals also include 67 RBIs and 56 runs scored. |
