Shorebirds Prevail, as Wildcard Series Goes to the Wire Monday, October 8th , 2046 Depending on your loyalties, the Wildcard Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Beloit Snappers giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Shorebirds came out on top, winning 5-1 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium today to take the series 4-3. "We're lucky to be going into the Division Championship," said Delmarva pitcher Jared Boyce. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Boyce earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .273 average, with 2 home runs, 7 RBI and 3 runs scored. The Division Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
