Chiefs Dominate, Sweep Division Championship Monday, October 15th , 2046 The Peoria Chiefs have swept the Hartford Yard Goats and are on to the Conference Championship. Peoria won 6-1 today at New Britain Stadium to clinch the Division Championship. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Peoria left fielder Fortunato Fteira, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Fteira won the award with a .500 batting average and a .526 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
