						Loons Win Conference Championship
						Tuesday, October 30th , 2046
Great Lakes designated hitter Jose Robles couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Conference Championship.
"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Robles moments after his club eliminated the Peoria Chiefs to advance to the World Series.
Great Lakes won the final game by a score of 5-4 at Dow Diamond and took the series 4-2.
"We won the series and that's the main thing," Robles said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."
For the series, Robles hit .429 with a .529 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Peoria manager Evan Longoria.
The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes.
