Morataya Selected 2046 AL Most Valuable Player Award

He may have less experience than most of his Midwest League peers, but that didn't slow Dan Morataya down at all in 2046.
At the age of 23, the Cedar Rapids right fielder has been named the winner of the American League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .300 batting average and a .396 on-base percentage this year. In 139 games he piled up 146 hits, 30 doubles, 4 triples, 37 home runs, 112 RBIs and 116 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 30. Cody Walsh of the Lansing Lugnuts finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Chris Powell of the Hickory Crawdads finished third with 1 first place vote.
