Athletics Prevail, as Divisional Series Goes to the Wire Monday, January 29th , 2046 The Oakland (WIN) Athletics are heading to the League Championship, having narrowly defeated the Arizona (WIN) Diamondbacks. Oakland (WIN) edged Arizona (WIN) in the series 3-2, with a win at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in the clinching game by a 14-6 margin. Chance Stever turned in a strong offensive performance for the Athletics and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Stever continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .333 with a .350 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 4 runs. The League Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes. |
