Angels Bridle Blue Jays, 3-1
|
California and Toronto duked it out and the Angels came out victorious.
The California Angels took Toronto pitcher Stacy Hootentootin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The final score had California getting past the Blue Jays, 3-1. Hootentootin went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 7. California is now 14-20, Toronto 24-9.
Bjoern Waltersson dealt the Blue Jays a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and California leading 2-1, Waltersson hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Waltersson after the game.
