Madrid Helps Athletics Beat Yankees, 5-4
|
Oakland third baseman Edwin Madrid played a vital role in his team's 5-4 triumph over New York. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Oakland. Oakland now has a 4-game win streak.
Had Quincy Bradford not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bradford hit a 2-run double. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Athletics.
Bradford said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
