Orioles Collect 10-8 Win Over Mets
|
Good production from shortstop Rudo Garciaparra helped the Baltimore Orioles topple the New York Mets, 10-8. Garciaparra was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Orioles. Chris Dauphin snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 2-2 on the season. The save was credited to Brad Jonas, his 2nd.
Baltimore used a timely hit from Tommy Luce to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Orioles ahead, 10-8. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll build on this win," said Garciaparra.
The Orioles are now 16-26, while the Mets fall to 21-20.
