Marlins Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
The Marlins grabbed a win, 6-5, at Marlins Park, overcoming a fine effort from Pittsburgh pitcher Felix Bernal. Bernal went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. With the win, the Marlins have a record of 19-23.
The Marlins were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Willie Chavez turned a first pitch forkball from Jeremy Kennie into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double electrified the Marlins Park denizens and sent the Marlins home with a thrilling 6-5 win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Chavez. "It was a great win."
