Big Day for Nishizawa in 8-6 Brewers Win
|
In the 8-6 Milwaukee win over Los Angeles, the impact of Akitada Nishizawa was substantial. Nishizawa, who is tied for 4th in the NL in runs scored with 33, went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Javy Uribe earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. The save was credited to Brett Rosinsky, his 1st.
Nishizawa had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 changeup from Mike Zimmerly, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Brewers a 8-6 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Nishizawa.
"We'll hit the hot tub tonight in good spirits tonight," said Nishizawa.
The Brewers raised their record to 16-28.
