Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Cardinals
|
The St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals put on quite a show.
The St. Louis Cardinals racked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the Washington Nationals, 3-0. Josh Ambrose, who started for St. Louis, pitched effectively for his team. St. Louis reliever J.J. Sykes picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Keith Pratt shouldered the loss.
St. Louis won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With one out and Cory Jones on the mound for Washington, left fielder Melvin Enriquez hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Cardinals fans to their feet.
Enriquez called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
St. Louis raised its record to 22-22 with the win.
