Braves Best Mets in Pitching Duel
|
Behind an impressive start by Nolan Stefanski, Atlanta beat New York, 2-1. Stefanski picked up the win for Atlanta, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. Matt Wass, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Atlanta used a well-timed hit by Jeckel Hester to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Braves ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We did just enough to win," Hester said.
The Braves saw their record improve to 25-23.
