Red Sox Clip Angels, 5-4
|
The Boston Red Sox did just enough to sneak past the California Angels, 5-4, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Boston pitcher Mike Nimmo, in particular, had a standout performance. Elijah Daniels, now 4-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The Red Sox saw their win-loss record go to 30-19. At the same time, the Angels fell to 21-29.
Tim Fuller hit a run-scoring triple off Ricky Castillo in the top of the ninth, which put the Red Sox in front, 5-4. In addition to the triple, Fuller had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Fuller told the Boston Citizen.
