Cardinals Walk It Off for 24th Win of Season
|
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Busch Stadium, knocking off the Chicago White Sox, 4-3. Starting pitcher Josh Sandoval was a big reason why. St. Louis reliever Mike Pemble picked up the win to move to 3-1. Rhett Beers suffered the loss. St. Louis bumps their record to 24-23 with the win.
Fabrice Bertin was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cardinals center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chicago manager Jake Turnbull. "The effort was great."
