White Sox Deal Cardinals 7-6 Loss
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Terry Baginski, the St. Louis Cardinals lost to the Chicago White Sox, 7-6. Baginski went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever John Murray picked up the win to move to 4-0. Nate Crow suffered the loss. With the win, Chicago upped its record to 32-18.
Dieter Knoops, who is tied for 9th in the AL in doubles with 12, aided the Chicago cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Chicago manager Jake Turnbull.
