Nationals Clip Orioles, 6-5
|
The Washington Nationals picked up a win at Nationals Park, taking down the Baltimore Orioles, 6-5. Starting pitcher Oleg Bahanov was a big reason why. Washington reliever Travis Plesz picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jay Rapini was tagged with the loss. The Nationals now have a mark of 20-32.
John Sanders was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Nationals third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Sanders said in his postgame press conference.
