Pirates Win at Milwaukee, 8-2
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates thumped the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-2, at Miller Park. Marvin McAleer was a big reason his team got the win. McAleer went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win puts the Pirates at 24-28, while the Brewers drop to 21-32.
McAleer contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Pittsburgh in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, McAleer took a changeup from Chitoji Takemoto and stroked the home run to right-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Pirates to leap in front, 2-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McAleer said after the game.
