Brewers Beat St. Louis, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals, pitcher Lewis Thorpe Jr. was the difference between victory and defeat. The Milwaukee left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Brewers win. Milwaukee reliever Chitoji Takemoto picked up the win, upping his record to 3-6. Mike Pemble was saddled with the loss. The save was credited to Javy Uribe, his 7th.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Thorpe Jr. delivered big-time for Milwaukee, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Mike Pemble. The game-changing hit put the Brewers on top, 2-1.
Thorpe Jr. called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
Milwaukee is now 23-35, St. Louis 27-30.
