Morrison Powers Rockies Offense
|
AT&T Park was the site for National League action featuring the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies.
The Colorado Rockies thumped the San Francisco Giants, 9-2, at AT&T Park. Shawn Morrison was a big reason his team got the win. Morrison went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. Gabe Stokes earned the win for Colorado. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3.
With Colorado leading 4-1 in the top of the second, Morrison hit a changeup from Tim Welshman for a grand slam home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 8-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Morrison said.
Colorado, at 23-35, occupies 4th place in the National League West Division.
