Washington catcher Dan Fallon contributed to his team's 10-2 win over the San Diego Padres. Fallon went 1 for 2 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Nationals. Jaden Asante got the win, improving to 3-8. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Rafael Silva, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.

It could have been a different outcome for Washington, had it not been for Dillon Gonzalez, the 26-year old right fielder . Gonzalez contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Washington up, 1-0.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Fallon said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

With the win over San Diego, the Nationals improved to 25-35.
