Yankees Rally For 5-2 Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a sterling performance from pitcher Ryan Sobocinski, but the New York Yankees still prevailed, 5-2. Sobocinski threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives New York a season record of 35-30.
Jim Skare, the 26-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Skare contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New York up, 3-2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Vince Deyzel.
