Braves Down Padres, 7-2
|
The first-place Atlanta Braves took on the San Diego Padres in front of a spirited crowd.
The Atlanta Braves topped the San Diego Padres, 7-2, in National League action at Turner Field. The standout performance belonged to Atlanta pitcher and New York, native Casey Jones. Atlanta raised its record to 38-29 with the win.
Rich Stinson, who finished 4th in the AL in triples with 12 in 2043, helped out the Atlanta cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"I thought we played a nice game," Stinson told the Atlanta Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
