Spirited fans greeted the Boston Red Sox for their clash with the Montreal Expos.
Getting a good performance from center fielder Austin Ohmer, the Montreal Expos defeated the Boston Red Sox, 5-1. Ohmer was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Expos. Brian White picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-3. He struck out 5 in 6.2 innings.
Steve French, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. French contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Montreal up, 3-1.
Ohmer called the win "a team effort."
The triumph puts Montreal at 35-33 for the season.
