Braves Beat Giants, 4-1
|
The Atlanta Braves went home winners at AT&T Park, thanks in large part to starter Casey Jones. Jones stifled the San Francisco Giants, enabling Atlanta to grab the 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Jones, now 11-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. Atlanta leads the National League East Division by 4 games.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Rich Stinson? The Atlanta right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Braves on top, 2-0. For the game, Stinson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Stinson told the Atlanta Times.
