Yankees Best Marlins in Pitching Duel
|
Fans watched the New York Yankees and the Miami Marlins fight to the finish.
The New York Yankees got a stellar performance from pitcher Chris McCoy, who handcuffed the Miami offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Marlins Park. Joel Pacheco collected his 18th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Russ Shambaugh? The New York left fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yankees on top, 2-1. For the game, Shambaugh had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I felt we were ready to go," said New York manager Vince Deyzel. "Our pregame was pretty good."
New York has now won 3 in a row.
