Angels Top Twins, 1-0, Behind Morante
|
The California Angels topped the Minnesota Twins, 1-0, in American League action at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The game was highlighted by the performance of California pitcher Gus Morante. Dave Thomas, credited with the save, is now 5 for 7 in save opportunities. California has now won 5 games in a row.
Morante earned the win, going 7 strong innings for California. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Minnesota hitters had little success against him.
