Braves Take Nail-Biter Over Mets
|
The Atlanta Braves picked up a win at Turner Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 3-2. On the mound for Atlanta was right-hander Kevin Ovens-Toots, who played a pivotal role in the win. Atlanta reliever Victor Munoz picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Chris Thurner shouldered the loss. Atlanta is now 47-37, 3 games up in the National League East Division.
The Braves relied on left fielder Jared Speck for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Andres Wray II.
