Mets Need Extra Innings to Top Braves, 9-7
The New York Mets stopped the Atlanta Braves, 9-7, at Turner Field. The Mets got a big game from Sean Cook, who went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. Josh Taylor, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. New York occupies second place in the National League East Division at 44-39.

New York used the timely hitting of Gus Berry to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Mets on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I get a nice buzz from a win like this one," said Berry.
